JCM COATINGS

If you are rebuilding a diesel engine and you do not have us ceramic and Teflon coat the pistons, you are doing yourself an injustice. When you are rebuilding an engine for performance, you have got to build a good foundation. Ceramic and Teflon Coated Pistons are the base of that foundation.

    • The ceramic coating on our pistons help protect the piston crown from heat and reflects heat to improve combustion
    • Teflon skirts reduce internal friction and piston slap
    • Can increase horsepower by 15 HP
    • Your engine will have a longer service life and run quieter

Ceramic Coated Pistons are quieter, smoother, and live much longer. The coating on the top of the piston will reflect the heat and keep it in the combustion chamber to better burn the fuel. The Teflon on the skirts allows the piston to run up and down the liner with less resistance making less noise. A 14 and 15-liter diesel engine loses about 75 horsepower due to internal friction. With these pistons, you recover about 15 of those horsepower. These coated pistons also help eliminate piston slap because the Teflon on the piston skirts is soft and eliminates about .001 thousandths piston-to-wall clearance. Teflon is the slipperiest material known to man. With a film of oil on the Teflon we now have a very smooth riding piston in the liner. The Teflon on the sides greatly reduces piston slap against the liner. Less slap = less noise, less cavitation (or liner pitting) and means longer cylinder liner life.

Remember; that the pistons is the part of the truck that pulls you and your load up the mountain. The ceramic coating on our treated pistons help protect the piston crown from heat and reflects heat to improve combustion. Teflon skirts reduce internal friction and piston slap. This treatment can increase horsepower by 15 HP. Your engine will have a longer service life and run quieter
